What is a Meat Share?
People buy part of a bulk or whole-animal order and take meat home. The listing should say what you get, the pickup date, and the price per share.
What is a Grill-out?
A locally hosted gathering. You reserve a plate or place, pay the host directly, and eat together. Exact address is shown only after you are approved or reserved.
Does GroupMeat hold the money?
No. You pay the producer or the host directly. GroupMeat coordinates the group and the status. We do not guarantee the meat or the gathering.
Who can host a Grill-out?
A signed-in member. Treat a new host like a neighbor, not a verified restaurant. If something looks off, do not pay and email support@groupmeat.com.
What if a group is invite-only?
Request to join, or use the private invitation link from the organizer. Invalid links should not unlock reserve.
How much freezer space do I need for a Meat Share?
A common planning rule is about one cubic foot for 30–35 pounds of packaged meat. Confirm weight with the organizer or provider.
